Dear Lucerne Elementary School Families,
We regret to inform all of you that we have not been able to fill our bus driver position at this time. This means we will not be able to provide school bus services after winter break. We realize that this is an incredible inconvenience for many families who depend on this service. We are continuing to search for qualified applicants to fill this position as soon as possible. We will provide updates on when these services will return.
Friday, December 15th is a minimum day for all students. There will be no school during Winter break, Monday, December 18th through Friday, January. 5th. School will resume Monday, January 8th. The minimum day schedule is as follows; TK – 3rd grade released at 1:00p.m. 4th – 8th grade released at 1:30p.m.
Following Winter Break a disruption to our bus service could likely happen if a new bus driver is not hired. We apologize for any inconvenience that may arise and we are working to correct the situation as quickly as possible. Please see the attached letter for more information.

The yearbook staff invites students and parents to submit photos for the yearbook. If you’ve got great photos of school and community events or you and your friends just having fun, we’d like to see them. Our photographers can’t be everywhere. Help us get as many photos as possible to create a terrific book everyone will want to have.
Lifetouch Picture re-takes are scheduled for Tuesday, November 14th from 8:30-10:30am. If you need pictures taken, remember to come on time to school and be ready to smile!

We also want to remind families that students are not allowed to dress in costumes on Wednesday, October 31st. Thanks for respecting this expectation.
We want thank Sutter Lakeside Hospital for donating wonderful care packs to all of our teachers. It was so thoughtful to have our community partners support our school. Our students and teachers really appreciate the kindness.
