Nurturing Families is based on the philosophy that parenting is learned - the way parents were raised directly influences the way they raise their children.

Dear Lucerne Elementary School Families: On Monday, March 28th through Wednesday, March 30th from 8:00-825 a.m. we will be distributing COVID-19 at home test kits to families in front of the school. Parents and Guardians can claim one test kit for each Lucerne student in their household. These tests are a resource to families to monitor COVID-19 at home or before and after any travel. Please remember that our school policy does not allow the home kits to confirm negative results for a close contact or when a student shows COVID symptoms.
Beginning Monday, March 14th, Lucerne Elementary School will be following California Department of Public Health (CDPH) updated guidance for indoor masking in schools. Masks will no longer be required, but instead, strongly recommended for staff and students.
Despite the recent decline in COVID-19 cases, it is still good practice to remain diligent against COVID, influenza and the common cold. Please familiarize yourselves with our school illness protocol. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to the school at (707)274-5578. For the continued safety of all our students and staff members, please keep your students at home when they are not feeling well.

Lucerne Elementary School Families and Staff: As we head into a new week of school it is important for everyone to be aware of our current situation in regards to the transmission of COVID-19 in our county and at our school. There has been a substantial increase to positive cases over the last week resulting in many staff and students having to quarantine. If this trend continues this week, we might have to make the decision to close classrooms or the entire school. If closure is deemed necessary, families will be notified as soon as possible but it might be very little notice. Our goal is to keep the school open and safe for those that attend.
As a community member you can support us at the school by;
Calling the school office and reporting any positive cases as soon as possible
Keeping sick students at home
If unvaccinated, test and quarantine quickly when you or a student has been exposed to a positive case
Make sure that your students come to school with a well-fitting mask
If you have not already received an at-home test kit we still have a few remaining to distribute to families. They are limited so please come by or call the office if you are interested in getting a testing kit.
